TM prompt 256: What do you hope for?
Nov. 20th, 2008 09:53 amThat's a pretty open ended question, isn't it? I suppose I could just give the standard answers, that I hope for world peace, an end to hunger, racism and homelessness, and for the Sharks to win the Superbowl, of course. And all of those would be amazing things to happen. But something tells me we're looking for a more introspective response here. So here goes.
I hope for acceptance. I'd love for people to not be so afraid of what they don't know, and employ little more curiosity to respectfully find out what things really are before they decide if it's something to fear. And I'd love to be able to accept myself and my circumstances more easily than I currently do.
I hope for patience, not just for myself but for those who have to deal with me on a regular basis. I know living with me can be hard sometimes and everyone's been doing a pretty good job so far. I'd like it to continue.
When it comes right down to it, though, what I hope for most is happiness, not just for myself, but for my family and friends as well. I'd like to be a part of their happiness as much as I'd like them to be a part of mine, but I would also like to be able to responsible for my own happiness without relying on others. And I mean real, true, deep down happiness, knowing that my life is going exactly the way it should, the way I want it to, knowing I wouldn't want to change a thing about it.
I hope I get there one day.
